Each Flash file contains its own color palette. This palette is stored in the Flash file, but it doesn't affect the file size. You can import and export both solid and gradient color palettes between Flash files, as well as between Flash and other applications, such as Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop. The default palette is the web-safe palette of 216 colors.
Flash displays the colors in a file's palette as swatches in the modifiers for fill, stroke, and type color. It also displays them in the Colors window. Use the Colors window to import, export, and modify a file's color palette. Use the color picker in the Colors window to specify color values.
To display the Colors window:
Choose Window > Colors.
To load or save the default palette:
In the Colors window, choose one of the following commands from the palette pop-up menu in the lower left corner.

Load Default Colors replaces the current palette with the default palette. |

Save as Default saves the current color palette as the default palette. The default palette used when you create new files. |
To clear colors from a palette:
In the Colors window, choose Clear Colors from the palette pop-up menu in the lower left corner.
All the colors are removed except black and white, and one gradient.
To load the web-safe 216 color palette:
In the Colors window, choose Web 216 from the palette pop-up menu in the lower left corner.
To sort colors in the palette:
In the Colors window, choose Sort by Color from the palette pop-up menu in the lower left corner.
Colors are sorted based on luminosity values.
